2008 Blog Archives

Below are my archived blog entries for 2008. For those of you who frequently visited my site back as far as 2008, you already knew that 2008 was quite a busy year for me. For those of you who are new, you can find out what happened in 2008 in this blog archive. Thank you for your intrest as I hope you will find the blog posts below an interesting read. (I happen to think there's still some value to be found in them.)

Fifty-fifth Wallpaper - "Your Move"
Your MoveTonight, I'm posting what should be my final wallpaper for 2008. When this year started, I had set out to create 25 new wallpapers for the year. That number may not sound like a lot, but it kept me busy this year, as well as finding ways to enhance the usability of this site in general (which I am always working on to improve).

This is my 25th wallpaper of the year, as well as being my 55th overall. This one I call "Your Move".

Finally, I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas season, and a wonderful New Year ahead. I myself am looking very forward to what 2009 will bring. (It can be one of the best years of your life too - if you decide to choose it to be.) ;-)

Fifty-fourth Wallpaper - "Beauty"
BeautyToday I've finally posted a new motivational wallpaper that I've entitled "Beauty", which would make this my 54th wallpaper overall.

I wanted to get this out last weekend, but things got too hectic as I had other tasks that I had to tend to. I finally found some time today to make this available.

When I create new wallpapers, I try to post material that reflects a lesson that I've recently learned myself. It becomes a reminder of that lesson that I should try to live out in my life. After I create them, I will decide if they are worthy of posting to my gallery that you see here.

Right now, where I live, we've seen some heavy winter weather that makes me look outside and just see "work" that needs to be done. But if I can put those negative thoughts aside, and see some beauty in the falling snow - which can be gorgeous sometimes, I can't deny that - I know that I can grow a little bit by seeing and appreciating that beauty that is there, as I shovel it off my driveway. :-)

Fifty-third Wallpaper - "Endurance"
EnduranceIn light of today being the first day of deer season here in Wisconsin (as well as for some other states here in America I'm sure), I felt the desire to go with an orange color theme for my new wallpaper. I call this one "Endurance", making this my 53rd motivational wallpaper.

Orange is an interesting color that led me to this topic (once I read up on the color). The color of orange has very high visibility, so you can use it to catch attention, which is exactly why hunters use it during the gun deer season. The color of orange represents enthusiasm, creativity, determination, success, encouragement, and stimulation. Orange has also been said to symbolize strength with endurance, leading me to this subject.

Endurance, as a topic, was not easy to find good quotes on. Scouring the Internet and reading quote books produced very little in my search on the topic. But I feel this quote best described what the highest level of endurance really is.

It probably should not surprise me that I had a hard time finding quotes on endurance. It is a topic that most people could easily ignore or overlook. It is not a "feel-good" topic to ponder on, which is a possible reason why it's not popular. When one is enduring something, usually they are not experiencing pleasant times or circumstances.

However, it is a highly admirable trait to acquire. Without endurance, we cannot get over that hill, that problem, that hardship. Endurance enables us to press on during the hard times, which enables us to reach the end. A runner in a marathon race must acquire endurance during his training, otherwise he would never be able to make it to the finish line.

We all must build our faith to the point where we acquire endurance. The kind of endurance that when we make it to the end of that struggle, we can look back someday and see that it turned something awful or difficult into something of glory.

Fifty-second Wallpaper - "Destiny"
DestinyTonight, I have the pleasure to announce that another motivational wallpaper has just been made available. This new wallpaper marks number 52 for my gallery of motivational wallpapers. I call this one "Destiny".

I frequently try to take as many pictures as I can, wherever I may be, in the hopes that I can capture something great for a later project. You never know when a great moment or scene may present itself and just freeze you in your tracks. That's what makes photography so exciting!

I took this photo a few months ago on a very windy summer evening as the sun had just gone down. I had waited on a hillside for about a half an hour until this setting presented itself. Patience is a great virtue to have, especially in the art of photography. So I've been saving this image until now as I feel this photo and it's theme seem to fit together nicely. Enjoy!

Fifty-first Wallpaper - "Harvest"
HarvestThis afternoon I've uploaded a new wallpaper which touches on a theme that relates to our current season of autumn. This new wallpaper is my 51st for my gallery of motivational wallpapers. I call this new one, "Harvest", as I hope this helps to put you in the seasonal mood.

Fiftieth Wallpaper - "Spirituality"
SpiritualityToday I've posted another new wallpaper to my gallery, making this my 50th motivational wallpaper overall. I consider this one a very special one due to it's significant place in the count as well as the topic of which it touches upon. This wallpaper is entitled "Spirituality".

I don't usually dive too deep into my personal life here, but today I feel the need to. You see, I consider myself not a religious man, but a spiritual man. In fact, we all are spiritual creatures whether we live out our "faith" or - for others - practice a religion or not. Either way, we are experiencing life here on earth, traveling on a path that leads to death or to life.

We all have a soul, a mind, and a physical body. My spirituality is based on knowing God and having a relationship with Him.

One day, after our lives have been lived out and our physical bodies perish and we die a physical death, we will still continue to exist in the spiritual realm because we all have a soul. I believe when I die, my soul will go to heaven based on my choosing to believe in Christ as my Savior. It's a free gift of life that God offers to everyone, and those that believe and accept that gift as theirs will have eternal life in heaven when they die.

For more details on how you can have eternal life with God in heaven, check this site out. I pray that you can find God today. And if you've been thinking about this for a while, please don't delay any longer. You never know if this day may be your last chance to experience God.

Forty-ninth Wallpaper - "Jump In"
Jump InHello again! I've just uploaded my 49th motivational wallpaper tonight. I call this one "Jump In".

This quote by Abraham Lincoln has been a long-time favorite of mine. Lincoln was known for trying to make his point in as few words as possible. And this quote hits the nail right on the head.

While I do believe that patience is a virtue that all of us should strive to perfect in our lives, standing around doing nothing isn't the method that builds patience. In fact, it aids to destroy our character at the same time since this wastes the precious gift of time. Jump into something worth doing today; tomorrow you'll be glad you did.

Forty-eighth Wallpaper - "Determination"
DeterminationI've uploaded a new motivational wallpaper today. This one is entitled "Determination", and it's my 48th wallpaper for this site. (This one's got some back story coming, so get comfy.)

I created this wallpaper in particular because of 2 things. One, I myself am I runner - not by nature, but by choice. So I wanted an image with a runner doing his morning run. The second reason is because today I have hit a milestone in my running. I have been running for about 8 years now. I really didn't start doing it until I got out of college and needed a way to stay in shape. Well, at the end of 2005, I decided I would try to do at least 1 mile every day, and see how long (how many days in a row) I could go. I initially set out to do 100 days. When the time came and I hit that 100 days, I thought, "Wow, that was great. I'm glad I stuck to it. I think I'll keep going and aim for a larger goal that will take me a lot longer to accomplish - like 1,000 days."

Well, 900 days later, today is my 1,000th day in a row of doing at least a minimum of 1 mile every day. (I would usually do more than just a mile as I averaged 2.75 miles during these 1,000 days.) So, I decided to make this wallpaper to commemorate the occasion, and to remind myself that determination is necessary when one decides to create goals and accomplish them.

Updates To "Success"
SuccessI've just posted the updates to my latest version for the wallpaper entitled "Success". To stick with my new format, I've added the author's name and updated the layout to match the others. Check back next week as I'll have a brand new wallpaper I've been working on.

More Resolutions Added To "Goals"
GoalsDrum roll please. . . . . . . . . . Here's the last and final group of additional resolutions I set out to make available 6 months ago. This set is for "Goals": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. I'm all caught up now. You asked for it - and I listened and delivered. Enjoy my friends!

More Resolutions Added To "Opportunity"
OpportunityAlright, here's the first group of additional resolutions I'm posting tonight. This set is for "Opportunity": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

Completing My Mission (One of Them at Least)
Hello again! Tonight I'm going to finish what I promised to do 6 months ago. What am I talking about?

I'm going to finish expanding the selection of resolutions (of only 4) to offer 8 different sizes of wallpapers for every one of my motivational wallpapers. I have 2 more left to complete then I am all caught up.

However, since I started doing this 6 months ago (literally to the day - check it out), I decided that some of the quotes I originally used weren't the best choice later on. So this process allowed me to go back and make those fixes.

Also, I wanted to include the authors' actual name on all of the wallpapers I created as well. (That took some real digging let me tell you.) I've also made some additional modifications to the layout on all of them, as well as some modifications and touch ups on those that I thought looked too faded in color or needed some additional Photoshopping.

So, that leaves me the task to still modify one last wallpaper - Success - which I already made 8 sizes for a while ago, but that was before I started adding the author with the slight layout change. So, I'm redoing that one tonight as well to keep things all uniform.

More Resolutions Added To "Dream Big"
Dream BigHere's another updated wallpaper I'm creating more resolutions for, which includes a great quote from Zig Ziglar. This set is for "Dream Big", which now has the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions to help round out this wallpaper set.

More Resolutions Added To "Shine"
ShineTonight I'm up for adding 2 more additional sets of resolutions to previous wallpapers. This first one is for "Shine": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

More Resolutions Added To "Wonderland"
WonderlandAll right, here's the last group of five supplemental resolution sets I've made tonight. This one's for "Wonderland". These two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions should round out the set for this wallpaper. I'm off to bed now as I could not find any Mountain Dew in my house. It's been a great day today, but it's just that time now. Good night!

More Resolutions Added To "Attitude"
AttitudeHere's the fourth set of five additional resolutions I'm making tonight. This one's for "Attitude": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. One more set to go.

More Resolutions Added To "Youth"
YouthHere's another set of motivational wallpapers - the third of five - I'm adding more resolutions for. This one's for "Youth": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. Two more sets to go. Yaaaa, here's to youth! Here's to feeling young! (Where's my Mountain Dew?)

More Resolutions Added To "Perspective"
PerspectiveOk, here's the second of five sets I'm putting up supplemental resolutions for. This one's for "Perspective": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. Enjoy!

More Resolutions Added To "Achievability"
AchievabilityTonight I'm up for creating some more resolutions to previous wallpapers I've made. I'm going to attempt to put up supplemental resolutions for 5 different wallpapers. In addition, I'm also adding the author's name to the quotations as I go (so as to keep with my new template). So, without further ado, here's 4 more resolutions for "Achievability": two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

Forty-seventh Wallpaper - "Overcome"
OvercomeOk, here it is. I present to you another motivational wallpaper called "Overcome", which is my 47th wallpaper overall.

I've been saving this sky background shot (taken about 2 years ago) for when a great idea for a nice wallpaper would come along. This week, the idea of using a plane came to me while looking at a list of holidays. (This list consisted of national, official, and imaginary holidays.) Well, Aviation Day came up for August 19th. That seemed interesting to me since I had yet to use one in a wallpaper. So, I used an image of a plane I had and placed it in this background. Using some of my Photoshop skills, I created this wallpaper.

I hope this one can help motivate you to overcome those things in your life that may be pulling you down. Just realize, they don't have to keep you down. Get up! Stay motivated and use those things as fuel to overcome!

More Resolutions Added To "Take Action"
Take ActionI put up some more resolutions for "Take Action": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. I did put a different quote on this wallpaper as I thought it was a better fit.

Now, I'm on to posting that new wallpaper you've been waiting for. So check back later today.

More Resolutions Added To "Zest"
ZestHere's a quick note to announce that I just put up some additional resolutions for "Zest": the two widescreen versions and the two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

The quote is the same as the original, but I added the author's name to the quote as this is my new ongoing policy with all new wallpapers. I'll try to get one more set out tonight for one more wallpaper. I am also working today on a new wallpaper that I promise I will post today.

More Resolutions Added To "Character"
CharacterAlright, here is another set of additional resolutions for "Character": two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

Well, I was able to get 3 of my older wallpapers taken care of tonight. I'll keep reposting the others till all the wallpapers have 8 resolutions. I'll try to post 2 more sets tomorrow night if time permits me. Take care and stay motivated!

More Resolutions Added To "Dreams"
DreamsHere's another motivational wallpaper that I've created 4 more resolutions for as well as changing the quote. The difference with this one and the one before it is that I knew who said the quote. (The old one came from Mulder on the "X-Files" show.) I began to think that an "X-files" character quote didn't have the same shine as a normal human being. (I know, call me "crazy" - that's ok.) This one by Oscar Wilde seems to fit perfectly for "Dreams" anyway. I hope to put one more set of additional wallpapers up tonight.

More Resolutions Added To "Imagination"
ImaginationHello again. Tonight I hope to produce quite a few more sets of additional resolutions for my older motivational wallpapers. This first set is for "Imagination": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

You may have noticed that I've changed the quote for this particular wallpaper. The reason for this is twofold: 1.) I could not find out who the author was that said the quote on my original version; and, 2.) this new one by Charles F. Kettering seemed to fit just as nice, if not better. For me, the light behind the trees represents our imaginations in that we can choose to limit our imaginations or allow it to shine, illuminating many different aspects of life in the process.

More Resolutions Added To "Rise Above It"
Rise Above ItHere is another set of additional resolutions for "Rise Above It": two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. I'll do my best to keep adding more resolutions to the rest of my wallpapers soon. Stay motivated!

More Resolutions Added To "Think Big"
Think BigJust wanted to post a few more resolutions tonight to a couple more wallpapers. I realize, last week I said that I'd have more wallpaper resolutions made, but inspiration got a hold of me and I decided to start making a new wallpaper that I hope to release this month. Anyway, I've added more resolutions for "Think Big": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. I'll be adding more resolutions to one more motivational wallpaper tonight.

Forty-sixth Wallpaper - "Change"
ChangeHello everyone. Yesterday I finally sat down and finished up a new motivational wallpaper that I've been trying to finish up for the past 2 months. (The perfectionist in me slows me down sometimes, as I was trying to find the perfect quote for this image.)

Anyway, I stayed up late last night finishing this wallpaper, but I just didn't have the time to post this till today. It's called "Change", and is my 46th wallpaper for the site.

Other things that I am currently working on include redoing a bunch of my older wallpapers (#'s 1-25) so that they all have 8 resolutions as well as adding the source of the quotes on them. As I'm reworking these, I'm also enhancing those that need some improvement. I've done about 10 already - so be looking for these later on this week.

When I'm done with that, I'll start looking into adding a few more resources to the site. If you've recently visited the success resources area, you may have noticed I've already added 3 subcategories under the main list of websites. It's not meant to be an all-inclusive list, just a few sites that you might find helpful.

Forty-fifth Wallpaper - "Journey"
JourneyToday I just finished up another motivational wallpaper. It's entitled "Journey", and is the 45th success wallpaper on this site.

When I came across this quote by Booker T. Washington, it spoke volumes to me as I applied this simple truth to my own struggles I've experienced so far in my life. It has stuck with me and continues to motivate me when I come across a challenge, making me think how even more glorious the goal will be when I reach it.

Forty-fourth Wallpaper - "Independence"
IndependenceHappy Fourth of July! One of my favorite American holidays of the year is today - Independence Day. To celebrate this exciting holiday, I decided to create for my 44th wallpaper - "Independence" - which highlights the excitement of today, while also incorporating a quote from one of our founding fathers - Benjamin Franklin. His words echo what those great men of that time in history valued the most. It was because of their foresight, determination, and leadership that helped form what this great country would become.

You will notice that I also superimposed within the smoke of the fireworks an image of the Declaration of Independence. (If you look closely, you may be able to identify the header and date near the top of the image.)

Here's to freedom and independence! I pray that all of you have a happy and safe holiday!

Happy Anniversary - One Year In Already!
Oh how time just flies. Today marks what I will call the official anniversary of I may have unveiled the site on June 30th, but really started to evolve what it was to become on July 1st, 2007, when I released the first wallpaper called "Success". Since then, I have added 42 more wallpapers, ranging from 4 to 8 different resolutions for every design. (In time, every wallpaper will have at least 8.)

It's been fun adding more wallpapers to the site every month and see the traffic grow along the way as well. I have many more great wallpapers coming. In fact, I will release another new one in just a few days in celebration of July 4th.

But today, I wanted to briefly acknowledge this site's anniversary, as well as to thank you for your enthusiasm and support for my work.

Forty-third Wallpaper - "Flavor"
FlavorI present to you another wallpaper, my 43rd for the site, entitled "Flavor".

I've always liked this quote by Eleanor Roosevelt. Life would indeed be boring if we knew how our whole life was going to play out. But it's so true. If we knew, it might be interesting to us the first day we heard it, but the rest of our days would be pretty bland, even if it was all positive! Many days I just wish something different would happen to break up the monotony.

So, here's to the "not-knowing", and to the unpredictable waiting for us to experience around the corner that gives life it's variable flavor.

More Resolutions Added To "Integrity"
VisionI'm finally finished for today, as I've added 4 more resolutions to "Integrity" : the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. Have a wonderful weekend!

More Resolutions Added To "Vision"
VisionHello again! I've added more resolutions to "Vision" today: the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. In addition to making these additional 4 resolutions, I've also enhanced the image on this wallpaper a little more to my liking. Enjoy!

More Resolutions Added To "Diversity"
DiversityI've just added 4 more resolutions to "Diversity": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

More Resolutions Added To "Potential"
PotentialToday, I've found some time to add 4 more resolutions for "Potential": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. I've also decided on changing the quote for this wallpaper to the one you see now.

Forty-second Wallpaper - "Reflect"
ReflectTonight I finally have another new wallpaper to give you. This one has been in the works for quite a while (well, at least the theme has been). But I've finally found an image worthy of the idea I had for it. This wallpaper is called "Reflect" and this one is my 42nd wallpaper.

This weekend, I plan on uploading 4 more updates to previous wallpapers I already have on the site. Only this time, all 4 wallpapers will have the 8 different resolutions that have now become the standard set that I create.

Forty-first Wallpaper - "In Memory"
In MemoryConsidering that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, I thought it fitting that I create a wallpaper dedicated to those who have served our country in military service, especially to those who have fallen on the battlefield. So with that thought, I present to you my 41st wallpaper entitled "In Memory".

More Resolutions Added To "Improvement"
ImprovementToday, I've found some time to add 4 more resolutions for "Improvement": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

Fortieth Wallpaper - "Trials"
TrialsHello again! I am delighted to say that this week so far has been very productive as I have another new wallpaper to offer you. In addition to providing more resolutions and enhanced versions of this year's crop of wallpapers, I give to you my 40th wallpaper entitled "Trials".

If you are going through a time of testing right now, then I want you to know that this wallpaper was made especially for you. I hope this might help encourage you to see that even during times of testing, when things are neither comfortable nor pleasant, those trials can become a seed of a great harvest that is still yet to come. Actually, if one could look at testing as an opportunity to improve oneself, it can actually give one a great perspective as to accept the trials of life as a necessary step in advancing oneself.

Just keep looking "up" to see that equivalent benefit in a trial, and you can start seeing that rainbow in the clouds.

More Resolutions Added To "Love"
LoveI've just added 4 more resolutions for "Love": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions.

More Resolutions Added To "Hope"
HopeToday I've added 4 more resolutions for "Hope": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. This is also one that I've decided to change the quote to what you see now.

More Resolutions Added To "Challenge"
ChallengeI've just added 4 more resolutions for "Challenge": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. In addition, this is one that I've decided to change the quote to what you see now.

More Resolutions Added To "Encourage"
EncourageThis week I've gone back and started adding more resolutions to my older wallpapers. I've just added 4 more resolutions for "Encourage": the two widescreen versions and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions. More are coming later today.

Thirty-ninth Wallpaper - "Work Ethic"
Work EthicWell, April's been quite a month for me, of which, has but only a few hours left in it (as of this writing). But before April 2008 becomes history, I wanted to post my 39th wallpaper, which I call "Work Ethic".

This image was taken last fall in the summer, when the bees were out working hard, focusing on their own tasks. I was able to capture a few nice shots that day, which I may use in some other wallpapers in the future.

On another note, you may have noticed that I included the author of this fine quote on this wallpaper. I've redesigned this one to fit 3 lines of text. If you go back and look at the rest of my stuff here, I have always used 2 lines of text. Part of that was due to the overall design structure. But it was limiting me to use shorter quotes, in which I felt that the wallpaper just wasn't complete as it could be.

I've also decided to go back and try to credit all authors on wallpapers that I've used their quotes - if they can be found as some quotes are so common now and so old that it is nearly impossible to track down.

Time is so limited for me right now, but it will be my goal to get this done. Some quotes on some wallpapers may even have to be changed, but I'm not fretting about that, because on some of the older ones I know that I can find a few better quotes to improve the wallpaper anyway. And when I go back, I'll make sure that I include all 8 resolution formats this time. So all the wallpapers on this site will be recreated for the better. All I ask is for a little patience while I make these changes. Thank you! :-)

Thirty-eighth Wallpaper - "Fortitude"
FortitudeTonight I give you my 38th wallpaper entitled "Fortitude". This actual image comes from a photo taken almost 20 years ago (as this little shed no longer stands today). Before it collapsed though, it must have stood for close to over 100 years. The outside didn't look like much, but what was holding it up was on the inside. I would say that within the final 5-10 years of it's standing, three or four trees started to grow inside of this small shed that helped keep the walls and roof from collapsing.

Here's the main point I'd like to make: it wasn't what was on the outside that held this little shed up, but what was determined to grow on the inside.

Truth be told, I cannot really determine if the shed collapsed due to the gravity's affect on the weak rotting boards, or that it was because of the trees inside of the shed growing too big and strong and finally burst their way upwards toward the sky. I'd prefer to think that the latter caused the event.

So, stay determined to overcome life's challenges, everybody has them. Sooner or later, the dawn of day will appear. May you find the strength to keep going.

Thirty-seventh Wallpaper - "Golden Rule"
Golden RuleToday I've created a wallpaper on the topic that mostly everyone around the world has heard of at least once in their lifetime - if not hundreds or even thousands of times (depending on your age). It's funny that I mention age, as today is my own birthday. And as such, I wanted to give something away on my birthday that everyone could relate to. So, tonight I give you my 37th wallpaper entitled "Golden Rule".

From what I have been able to come up with, (and there is much debate on this issue), this very phrase (or Rule) is inspired from the passage of Scripture in Matthew 7:12. It reads: "Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them", which came from Christ's famous Sermon on the Mount.

Thirty-sixth Wallpaper - "Outlook"
OutlookHello again. Tonight I've finally finished up on another wallpaper that's been in the works now for about a week. This one I started on Monday night and it uses both 3d generated content and photography to achieve the mood and environment I was looking for.

This image conveys to me the idea that this place could be viewed as a desolate wasteland of isolation, or a hiding place of serenity. I'm sure most of you have heard the old phrase, "Life is what you make of it." I think that holds true in every area of life. It's your outlook on an event or circumstance you face in life that can color your reality. So, with another opportunity to help encourage you tonight, I give you "Outlook", my 36th wallpaper.

More Resolutions Added To "Success"
SuccessTonight I've created 4 more resolutions for "Success": two widescreen versions (1920x1200 and 1440x900) and two 5:4 aspect ratio versions (1600x1280 and 1280x1024). You can download these new files at the "Success" page. This marks the first wallpaper to be recreated with the new resolutions as I decided to slightly tweak this wallpaper by moving the text on these - along with the original 4 files - a little higher so as not to be so close to the bottom edge of the desktop.

Thirty-fifth Wallpaper - "Leap Forward"
Leap ForwardWell, today being a day which comes only once every 4 years - Leap Year Day - I decided to integrate today's theme into a wallpaper. The image portion of this wallpaper was something I actually created 4 years ago, on the last Leap Year Day, February 29, 2004. I've changed the colors from the original though to help convey the concept of this wallpaper.

This is actually only 1 of 6 different versions I made of this wallpaper. I've been going back and forth for the past couple of days on which version to release as my 35th wallpaper. Well, I've decided today that this was the one. I may decide in the future to offer the other versions I've created, but for now, this will have to do. I hope you like it. It's called "Leap Forward".

On another big decision I've made, I'm sure some of you may also have noticed that there are 8 resolution choices of this wallpaper to choose from to download. Yes, I've finally decided to "leap forward" myself and offer 2 widescreen versions (1920x1200 and 1440x900) and 2 more 5:4 aspect ratio versions (1600x1280 and 1280x1024) of all my wallpapers going forward.

I hope this will satisfy those of you who have asked to see widescreen versions of my work. I know, you'd like to see more converted over. Well, I promise that I will eventually get to the previous wallpapers converted over to the other new sizes in time. (It may take a while though, as I still have many more new ones to create. So stay tuned.)

Thirty-fourth Wallpaper - "Hope"
HopeToday seems to be a great day to offer another wallpaper based on a topic I've been holding on to. Some call this topic an emotion. Some call it a feeling. I'd like to think of it as a character quality that everyone must possess in themselves. This quality may seem to come and go, depending on one's outlook on life. This quality is "Hope", and this is what I decided should be my 34th wallpaper.

To me, this image delivers the idea that when times are tough, if we keep focusing on the negative, we will look down, and all we will see is our present circumstances that make things seem hopeless. But if we can change our perspective and be positive and look upwards, we can find the hope that lies beyond our present circumstances. Keep searching for that hope, it is a precious thing to hold on to. The great thing is that anyone can have this hope if they choose to grasp it.

Thirty-third Wallpaper - "Love"
LoveWell, it's that time of the year again: a time when we can celebrate love and romance with that special person in our lives. So, for those who may tend to forget about Valentine's Day or tend to put it off till the last moment, let this serve as an early reminder for you.

I'd also like to mention that this image is obviously not a photo. This is a 3d render I did in 2003. I've modified it since then to what you see here now. So, keeping count now, this is my 33rd wallpaper entitled, "Love". (You can pretend it's a photo if you'd like. I'll allow it.) :-)

It's Alive! The Feed's Alive!
RSS feed iconYou've asked for it, now you got it! I've finally completed setting up an RSS feed for this site using Feedburner's feed service - which is perhaps the best on the web, and it's free!

I've decided to go back and use January's last blog entry as the first item, then new entries after tonights will follow in the feed - as using tonights announcement as the first feed seems kind of pointless. Anyway, it's set up now, so go and subscribe. I've decided to call the feed "Success Wallpapers Served". (Yeah, I think I need more sleep too.)

Thirty-second Wallpaper - "Challenge"
ChallengeTonight seems to be the perfect night to present this picture - at least for me. You see I live in Northeast Wisconsin and we've been bombarded by a lot of snow so far this winter. In fact, this picture was taken from my backyard. (Just kidding - it's not that bad - yet.) I will say though that we've received more than the normal amount of snow for our area. Even tonight, as I look outside, we are getting hit with another snowstorm prompting winter storm warnings all over the state.

I've also been wanting to present this theme for a while now, as an encouragement for you to challenge yourself this coming year to do more and become more by taking steps that may have seemed hard to take in the past. So tonight, I'm pleased to present to you my 32nd wallpaper called "Challenge".

In addition to creating more wallpapers, I'm also working on creating an RSS feed for this site, so those of you who use RSS feed software, or some other type of feed program, you can keep up to date on what's happening here at this site. I'm hoping to set one up within the next few weeks when I can find the time to. (I guess I need to challenge myself to get it done as soon as I can. Maybe this weekend! If it's not done by then, you can guess that I'll be outside shoveling the snow in my driveway.)

Thirty-first Wallpaper - "Encourage"
EncourageHello again! Since this is my first new post for the year, I'd like to say thanks for coming back. I know it seems that I've been slacking off, but I have been busy lately. In addition to testing out some new features to add to this site, I've also been working on a few new wallpapers the last few weeks and today I am glad to be able to provide to you (finally) the first new wallpaper of the year. This one's called "Encourage" and is the 31st wallpaper for the site.

I'm close to having 2 more done, but I will most likely only have one more added this month due to some other things that I need to take care of first. (This year's already looking to be busier than the last. But isn't it how it always seems to be?)
